Dear Friends and Parishioners,
We have struggled to fulfill our resolutions to grow closer to Our Lord through prayer and self denial during Lent. But now, the Easter season has begun! Now we sing “Alleluia!” Our new life is filled with optimism and peace, and we tell Our Lord in our Easter celebration that we will pray more and tell others about Him.
My brothers and sisters, many of us have worked to make a good Confession this Lent. Remember that God has forgiven us and will continue to forgive us as we struggle and live in this joy with Christ; as we look forward to the Holy Spirit who will descend upon us on Pentecost. As we celebrate the Lord’s divinity, He remembers our humanity. So, keep the joy of Easter with you throughout the season and throughout the year. Joy is alive in the Church of Christ!
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say: Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high; Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!
With my Easter prayers & blessings,
Fr. Michael Barrett
During Easter Weekend, Saint Agnes took up a second collection for the expense of repairing the front doors to our church. As these doors receive heavy traffic every day, the repairs necessary to keep up with our schedule is costly at $40,000. We continue to need assistance with this expense. Please consider what you can give; donations can be placed in the collection basket at Mass or dropped off at the rectory. Thank you for supporting our church.
Please prayerfully consider your gift. Pledge envelopes can be found in the back of the church; they can be mailed to the Appeal office or submitted to the parish. You can also pledge online. Thank You!
Fr. Barrett and Fr. Brisson can hear Confession in both English and Spanish. Don’t let a language barrier get in the way! Wondering when they’ll be in the Confessional next? Call the Rectory at 212-682-5722.
Saint Agnes is in need of volunteers. These opportunities are for important work that helps Saint Agnes to be the full service church that it is. We are looking for:
We ask all interested volunteers to please call the rectory at (212)682-5722 and speak with Anna. Thank you!
